Online retailer, Moment, continue their expansion and are now selling Sony cameras and lenses. There are already some great deals to be had. $300 off an A7R IV, anyone? If you buy any Sony gear this week, use the coupon code Sonymoment and you’ll get a free neck strap.
Moment began life as a mobile photography accessory maker, but have since branched out to create products in other product categories, as well as launching a curated online retail platform.
I had a chat with them recently about their plans for the store and came away very impressed with their approach. They do not want to be another B&H or Adorama where there can be literally thousands of search results for individual items. Instead, they are curating a user/pro driven shopping selection that only includes the very best brands and products.
Every brand or item in the store is vetted by their in-house team of creatives to make sure that it is of the highest quality. They’re also reaching out to people like me who test photo gear on a regular basis, to get our opinions on which brands and products deserve to be in the store.
As far as cameras and lenses go, Moment already has a full selection of Sony and Fuji gear. You’ll also find brands such as Peak Design, Wandrd, F-Stop, Lumecube, Aputure, Gnarbox, G-Technology and DJI.
Amazing Shipping Policies – Including Free International Shipping!
When I had my chat with them – yes it’s 2020 so of course, we were on Zoom – they also told me about their amazing international shipping policies. I actually couldn’t believe this when they told me…
For all customers, to pretty much anywhere in the world, shipping is free if your order is over $35. Not only that, but it’s expedited shipping that should deliver within 2-5 days.
To offer free shipping internationally is rare on its own. But to offer it with such a small minimum order value is kind of mind-blowing. You can also deal with any potential taxes and duties upfront, so there are no surprises when the package arrives. This makes it really easy for people to figure out if they should buy from a store in their own country, or whether it will be cheaper to buy from Moment. Very cool indeed.
More to Come
I love what Moment is creating with this online platform. You’ll even find some online learning resources from top industry pros, as well as photo workshops from those same people. Look for the site to become more of a creative hub in the future, and look for Moment to be one of your go-to photo shopping resources.
