The Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS II is a telephoto zoom lens that can be used effectively for wildlife photography, landscape photography, sports photography, portraiture and travel photography. I have owned this lens for many years, and in this post, I want to share some of my sample photos with you so that you can get an idea of the kind of scenarios where this lens shines.
The advantage of any telephoto zoom lens with a 100-400mm range is its versatility. As you will see from the Canon 100-400mm sample photos on this page, this focal length range allows you to create an array of stunning images if you know how to use it. For me, a zoom lens with this focal range is an essential part of my kit. With Canon DSLRs and the EF lens range, it was this 100-400mm lens. Now, with the RF lens range and Canon’s mirrorless cameras, it’s the RF 100-500mm lens. Adding to the versatility of this lens is its excellent performance with the Canon 1.4x extender.

What happened to your Sony gear? Your shooting canon again?
I’m still shooting Sony. I was just going through some old photos and noticed how many were shot with this lens, so I thought I would share them.

These are mostly taken with a DSLR. Usually a 5D Mark III and Mark IV.
