Adorama’s deal of the day is one of the best I have ever seen. Today only, save 43% on Capture One Pro 20. And don’t worry, even though it’s sold by a real store, you can still get it as a simple digital download.
I have never seen Capture One sell the software themselves for this kind of discount, so this is a unique opportunity to get an incredible piece of editing software and save a massive $129.05!

Dan,
I upgraded to C1 20 but am very turned off by the fact that I can’t run the video card hardware acceleration (OpenCL) with my 2019 video card (Radeon 5700 XT) without horrible blocky artifacts. Their support has told me I need to turn off hardware support, for both Display and Processing. They do not have any other solution. Without hardware support the software is slow.
My question is, do you find Capture One worth it? I have always been a Lightroom user, but am tempted to process my Fuji files on Capture One for the better rendering. But it just seems so amateurish that they can’t figure out how to make OpenCL work, or that they would sell a final product that doesn’t work with such popular video card.
Since I have already purchased the upgrade and they refuse to refund, I guess I am stuck with it. But I’m wondering if its worth the time invested to learn C1, as well as the loss of the Lightroom ecosystem (sync with iOS app). Thanks.
That’s a hard one. I find the results I get out of C1 to be better than LR. But so far I prefer the workflow of LR. I organize in LR at the moment and process my picks in C1 as needed. Truthfully I don’t get great speed out of Lightroom either so I’m not sure what the best option is for a speed perspective. I think if you have spent the money it is worth spending a bit more time on it, though.
