Think Tank Photo has added a new roller bag to their lineup, and this one has a twist. The Essentials is a convertible roller bag that has backpack straps that can be deployed in seconds when you need to cross rough ground.

Sized to meet most airline carry-on requirements, the Essentials fits two DSLR or Mirrorless bodies, a mounted 70–200mm, multiple lenses, and a 16-inch laptop. It’s Think Tank’s smallest roller bag, but it certainly doesn’t lack any of the features of the larger bags.

Key Features

  • Deployable backpack straps allow you to carry the roller on your back when the terrain gets rough
  • Specially designed interior to maximize camera gear for carry-on, meeting most U.S. and International airline carry-on requirements
  • Dedicated laptop compartment fits up to a 16-inch laptop

Specifications

  • Internal Dimensions: 12.2” W x 16.5” H x 4.3–5.9” D (31 x 42 x 11–15 cm)
  • Exterior Dimensions: 12.6” W x 19” H x 8.3” D (32 x 48.3 x 21 cm)
  • Laptop Pocket: 10” W x 14.3” H x 1” D (25.5 x 36.5 x 2.5 cm)
  • Weight: 7.2 lbs. (3.3 kg)

Where to Buy

US Customers spending over $50 in Think Tank Photo’s online store can get a free gift at checkout after following one of the links to the store from this review–like this one. If you have any issues, please follow the instructions on this page.

As always, using our links for your purchases is appreciated. Of course, US readers should shop directly with Think Tank to take advantage of the gift. Canadian readers should shop with B&H Photo as they offer free shipping and the option to pre-pay the tax and duties. This results in a better final price than buying from Think Tank distributors in Canada.
