Shimoda Adds New Capture Strap Option to Action X and Explore Backpacks

Shimoda has introduced a new shoulder strap solution for its popular Action X and Explore camera backpacks. The new Capture Strap is an optional purchase that replaces the standard left-hand shoulder strap with one containing a mounting rail for camera clips from brands like Peak Design and Ulanzi.

In my reviews of these bags (Action X V2, Explore V2), I found that both natively accommodate camera capture clips; however, the positioning options are limited due to the built-in phone pocket that is standard on the shoulder straps of these Shimoda packs. The new Capture Straps offer user a better place to position their cameras lower down on the strap, at the expense of the phone pocket. I tested this strap on an Action X V2 backpack and found it to be a great solution. Since I generally put my phone in my pants pocket, this Capture Strap is potentially more helpful to me, and I intend to leave it on my bag.

Disclaimer: Shimoda provided the new Capture Strap so that I could update my existing reviews of the compatible products. No money changed hands, and they were not allowed to view this content before it was published.
