The XE-4 was one of Fujifilm’s biggest failures. People pre-ordered the camera in large numbers, and Fuji struggled to fulfill the demand. Two years after its launch, the camera was discontinued, and many customers never received their pre-ordered units.

Today, the X-E5 was launched, along with a new 23mm pancake lens. Essentially, this is a Fuji X100VI with an interchangeable lens mount and a new film simulation dial. Can Fujifilm turn things around with the new X-E5? Following the astronomical success of the X100VI, I anticipate this camera will receive even more pre-orders than the X-E4.
I like my X100VI a lot, but I often wish it had more focal length flexibility. For that reason, I’ll be selling it and replacing it with the new X-E5. I immediately ordered the black X-E5 with the new 23mm lens to ensure I was in the lineup.
