The new drives, to be launched in the summer of 2019, come in two flavours: SL-C series featuring 540MB/s read speed and 520MB/s write speed SL-M series featuring read and write speed of up to 1000MB/s Both the SL-C and SL-M drives feature a USB 3.1 Gen 2 USB-C interface as well as IP67 waterproofing and dust rating, and a robust design that’s capable of withstanding a drop of 9 ft. Sony Launching Tough CFexpress Cards Capable of 1700MB/s
The CFexpress memory card format is gathering momentum, and appears to be the logical successor to Compact Flash, CFast and XQD cards. By the end of 2019 there will be cameras from Nikon, Sony, Panasonic and Canon that use this card format. Something which never happened with the half-hearted partial adoption of the CFast and XQD formats.
