Peak Design Launches Innovative New Travel Tipod

Peak Design have launched a new travel tripod on Kickstarter and based on their past successes with the crowd funding platform, it should come as no surprise that they blew past the $2million funding mark in a single day. Smashing their $500,000 goal with 57 days still to go. “During my travels in 2008 I began wondering why on Earth my tripod was so big. The thing was full of negative space and knobs, and I felt like something designed for portability could do much better,” Peak Design CEO, Peter Dering. Photography Highlights from CES 2019

The Consumer Electronics show is coming to a close in Las Vegas so I thought I’d highlight a few interesting photography related announcements. Typically this is not a show where large manufacturers present a lot of new photographic gear, but every year there are a few things worth taking a look at. Skylum Software Tease Luminar Update With Lightroom-Style Library Features

There’s no doubt that Skylum Software’s Luminar is one of the most powerful and popular Lightroom alternatives when it comes to actually editing photos. Whilst I test a great many applications so that I am knowledgeable for my work on Shutter Muse, Luminar is the only one that seems regular usage outside of my usual Lightroom and Photoshop routines. The major thing that has been lacking from Luminar is some form of asset management. Continuous updates to Luminar over the last couple of years have brought the editing side of things up to a very high standard, but for many …
